Bowling Distribution

Precision low-trajectory rolling pass to initiate short build-up play to nearby defenders. Bowling is the safest and most accurate method for distributing the ball along the turf without bouncing, making it easy for teammates to control under pressure.

  1. Secure Grip: Cup the ball securely in your dominant palm with fingers spread wide underneath to maintain complete control.
  2. Stance & Step: Step forward cleanly with the opposite foot toward your intended target while lowering your hips.
  3. Pendulum Swing: Swing your arm backward in a smooth, fluid pendulum arc, keeping the arm close to the body.
  4. Release & Follow Through: Release the ball smoothly right at turf level so it glides across the grass without bouncing into the teammate’s feet.

Common Corrections

Targeted Fixes: Correct fundamental distribution breakdowns immediately.

Bouncing the Ball: Releasing the ball too high causes it to bounce awkwardly, making it difficult for the receiver to control. Enforce turf-level release.

Stiff Arm Motion: Punching or pushing the ball stiffly limits accuracy. Cue a relaxed, pendulum-like arm swing.

Rushing the Release: Throwing blindly before teammates are set leads to turnovers. Require a visual scan before the roll.
