K-Block Save

A specialized, close-distance blocking shape used to seal off the space between the legs and maximize lower-body surface area during tight 1v1 encounters where diving is impossible.

  1. Balanced Stance: Maintain a low, balanced set stance as the attacker approaches within two to five yards.
  2. The Drop: As the shot is struck, drop the trailing knee directly to the turf behind the lead heel to close the gap entirely.
  3. Posture & Chest: Keep the chest tall, puffed out, and square to the ball line. Never lean backward onto the heels.
  4. Barrier Extension: Extend both hands diagonally downward and wide to cover the space outside the legs while keeping hands up to protect the face.

Common Corrections

Targeted Fixes: Correct common blocking breakdowns immediately.

Leaning Backward: Falling backward causes shots to pop up over the shoulders or through the chest. Enforce a tall, forward-leaning chest.

Leaving a Gap Between Legs: Failing to drop the knee completely behind the heel allows low shots to pass through. Cue: Close the gate.

Dropping Hands: Lowering the hands leaves the upper body exposed to driven shots. Remind them to keep hands active and protective.
